Discipline is not about control, punishments or rewards — it’s about teaching.

Imagine there was a research-based approach that focuses on teaching children effective problem-solving skills, consequences that are respectful and encouraging, and effective communication.

Lucky for you - there is!

Positive discipline not only helps children learn problem-solving skills, but also encourages them to think creatively, develop self-control, and take responsibility for their own actions.

Want to know more?

Do you want to understand positive discipline and learn how it can be used to help your children develop essential skills and create strong relationships within your family.

This unique approach to discipline recognizes that children are unique and need to be treated with respect and understanding.

Positive Discipline is:

  • Mutual respect. Adults model firmness by respecting themselves and the needs of the situation, and kindness by respecting the needs of the child.

  • Identifying the belief behind the behavior. Effective discipline recognizes the WHY.

  • Effective communication and problem solving skills.

  • Discipline that teaches.

  • Focusing on solutions instead of punishment.

  • Encourages (instead of praises). Encouragement notices effort and improvement, not just success, and builds long-term self-esteem and empowerment.
